An action of a court in separating the claims of multiple parties and permitting separate actions on each claim or on fewer than all claims at one time. Fed.R.Civ.P. 21.
"Severance" divides lawsuit into two or more independent causes, each of which terminates in separate, final and enforceable judgment. Kansas University Endowment Ass'n v. King, 162 Tex. 599, 350 S.W.2d 11, 19.
